The perspective: My vision

To make rural Dalarna something I find “sexy”.

To draw forward delightful things to make a specific place more appealing to your taste.

I find ruins of industries tragic, but yet hopeful. The place has been liberated, or barred, from it’s purpose. For me, productive industries does not imply working opportunities and wealth, but rather pollution, poor working conditions and low wages. Remember: this is only my own point of view.
Now, the abandoned places like Larsbo Kalk AB, litter the countryside of Sweden since the corporations choose a working force more desperate than the local population in order to make even more profit.

So what to do with all this steel and concrete that collects dust? Well, I say: Let’s pimp it!

For too long, the image of Dalarna has been decimated to folk music, strange clocks, even more strange painted horses, and clogs. Of course this is all good things that describes a landscape full of history and something to be proud of. But Dalarna, just as any other place, is much more than it’s history!

So, used the eerie, cold, dark and lonely former chalk facility Larsbo Kalk and turned it into a place for a rock´n roll life style! A monument to live for the moment, because the now is ever-present and all-powerful. Build on the failings of the past, on the ruins of industry.

In other words: I took a place, let that place become my symbol for the whole of Dalarna and turned it into something I found interesting.
